Meet Tricia from Salt and Light Homemaking!
Hi there, I’m Tricia of Salt and Light Homemaking!
My husband Aaron and I spent the last fourteen years as Christian missionaries at the Flying H Youth Ranch in Washington state. You can find out more about the Ranch here. We have been married for almost 20 years and have four sweet kiddos that I homeschool. I am passionate about Christ and my role as a wife, mother and homemaker. Because of this I have a deep desire to create a lifegiving home. To love on my husband and children by creating a cozy and inspiring, home filled with love for them. You can find me reading stories, playing games, taking walks and enjoying movies with my kids. I want them to know the love of Christ deeply because they saw it in their momma.
About Me
I grew up in a suburban neighborhood but have always been a country girl at heart. When the Lord called us into ministry where we would be living in the country it became clear why the Lord made me this way! My husband and I have spent the last 15 years living in the country and I never want to give it up!
I’m the youngest of two and my brother is nine years older than me. I always wanted more siblings. Hence my wanting to have a big family.
I am super old fashioned. My husband likes to joke that I would have us living with the Amish if he’d convert. That’s a bit of an exaggeration. But, I do love the Amish!
I love books! Because of this our homeschool is rich in Literature. My bookshelves house Children’s books, Fiction, Faith based books, and many Classics.
I’m a total Homebody.
Fun Facts About Me
I love animals! Our life includes two cats, and two dogs and several chickens. In the past we have also had mini-lop bunnies and we would like to have them again someday. When I say “we” I mean the kids and I. My husband does not share our affection for animals but he is supportive of our animal loving ways.
I traveled most of the United States as a kid with my dad in the summers on his Semi truck.
I was the Yearbook editor of my High School Yearbook.
Why Salt and Light Homemaking?
“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:13-16
As a Christian mother my calling is to disciple my children, I want to be the salt and light in my home for them in hopes that they too will become salt and light in the world.
